This 2015 show is Peppa Pig’s sixth consecutive West End Christmas season which just goes to show what a popular little piggie she is – we can’t wait to see it again this year as it’s always an absolute favourite day out for us. PEPPA PIG’S SURPRISE – the new production from top children’s producers Fiery Light, in partnership with licensor Entertainment One – will take a break from its UK touring dates and set up for the first time at the Duke of York’s Theatre, St Martin’s Lane for 40 performances only – this makes it very special, what a fabulous prize.

What can little Peppa Pig fans expect?

It’s a lovely day and Peppa is playing outside with her friends. Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig have got a surprise for her and her younger brother George but no matter how hard they try, they cannot guess what it is. In PEPPA PIG’S SURPRISE audiences will enjoy interactive fun, games and, of course, surprises. This charming, colourful new show features new songs and new life-size puppets. PEPPA PIG’S SURPRISE promises to be the perfect theatre show for all pre-schoolers. Suitable for ages 3+.

PEPPA PIG’S SURPRISE had its world premiere on Friday 23 October, from when it started touring across the UK and to Ireland. The tour, including this West End Christmas season, will be a total of fifteen months in duration. This new production is the fourth Peppa Pig Live production – the first opened in 2009 – and to date the Peppa Pig Live shows have played to several million people across the UK and Ireland, making it one of the most popular and enduring shows currently on the touring circuit. In addition, Fiery Light’s Peppa Pig Live productions have now gone international with a production running in Australia and another opening in the US autumn 2015. There are also licensed productions of the show in Spain, Italy and Latin America.

Richard Lewis once again has adapted episodes from the hit TV show, created by Astley Baker Davies, and he also directs. He has done the same for all three Peppa Pig Live stage shows: Peppa Pig’s Party (2009 – 2011), Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt (2011 – 12) and Peppa Pig’s Big Splash (2013 – 2014). His other most recent productions for Fiery Light include: Octonauts Live (2014 – 2015) and Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom (2012 & 2015).

Richard Lewis commented on the Duke of York’s Christmas season: ‘I’m delighted that Peppa Pig Live will have a sixth consecutive West End residence this Christmas-time. Since the first one at the Criterion Theatre in 2010, we have seen box office demand for these seasons increase year on year and we now know there is an eager young audience for the ultimate festive experience in London, Christmas with Peppa Pig!’

New sing-along songs and music will again be provided by BAFTA award-winning Mani Svavarsson. Matt Lewis is lyricist, Simon Scullion is designer, Matt Haskins is lighting designer, Helen Atkinson is sound designer and Andy Booth is music director.

Cast are Melanie Ann, Emma Grace Arends, Liam Farrow, Auriol Hatcher, Emma Hilts, Lauren Martin and David Sandham.
