With Father’s Day just around the corner, many congratulations to you if you’ve already got a present sorted, but there are no doubt plenty of you out there who are struggling to come up with something. Take them away somewhere

If you want to do something really special then you could treat them and take them somewhere nice. If you want to splash the cash a little then you could try somewhere abroad but if you’d like to keep it more local, there are plenty of places in the UK perfect for a trip away. It doesn’t even have to be a holiday; a day trip out to somewhere they like going or somewhere that brings back memories would work just as well.

Photographs

Photos are always a great choice for either Mother’s or Father’s Day, particularly if they have grandchildren as they can keep a visual record of them growing up. This is an especially good present if they don’t get to see their grandchildren that often, in which case you could do a photo with you in as well so they can see the whole part of your family. You could even get them involved in the photos themselves, making it something they really will cherish. If you look at professional photo studios such as Venture Photography, then they do wonderful photos of the whole family.

Have a family get together

If you are part of a family that doesn’t spend a lot of time together then it might be a nice idea to have a Father’s Day get together for the whole family. This could be at a nice pub or restaurant or you could do it at someone’s house so everyone can mingle and chat.

Something engraved or personalised

So many presents are impersonal and don’t really have much sentimental value, so something engraved or personalised adds more of a personal touch that they’re more likely to perish. This site has loads of engraved gifts such as cheese board, tankards and pens. You could even try a site such as Moonpig and get a personalised card to round the whole thing off.

Think about your shared interests

Do you and your dad have a shared interest you could both share? Perhaps you both support a football team or both like classic cars or going fishing. If you have a shared interest then you could use this as the basis of a gift, which is sure to go down well. You could go to a sporting event or visit a car show or go to see someone in concert – there’s bound to be something you’re both into!
