When I was little I was rather into ‘My Little Pony’ and I had quite a few of them including Peachy and the Grooming Parlour, Blossom, Apple Jack and some ‘My Little Pony’ sea horses. These days ‘My Little Pony’ is as popular as ever and even though new characters like Rainbow Dash, one of the most popular from the hit TV show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, have usurped the likes of Blossom and Peachy, Apple Jack is stilll going strong as the only origianal still in production.

Like me, Florence is a bit of a fan too and when we were invited to a new ‘My Little Pony’ product launch party at the weekend she insisted on taking along her enormous Fluttershy My Little Pony from Build A Bear. Fluttershy is one of the characters Florence is most keen on but Rainbow Dash is her absolute favourite and as luck would have it the character the party was all about!

We headed to Happy Faces Children’s Hair Salon in Clapham to celebrate the new Rainbow Dash Style And Groom, a model of the pony herself with her gorgeous colourful hair just ready to be brushed, braided and beaded with all the accessories that it come with her!

The salon, which specialises in cutting the locks of tots was decorated in pink pony party sparkles with lots of themed food and LOTS of the Rainbow Dash Style And Grooms to be played with. Florence and I went on our own for a girlie afternoon and she was in her element playing with the toys and having her nails and hair done!

The afternoon was lots of fun and all the little girls at the party enjoyed themselves, as did the big girls! I got to catch up with Katy from Modern Mummy, Emily from Family Four Fun and Kara from Innocent Charms Chats as our girls played together with the Rainbow Dash toys. The thing we all noticed ws how quietly they were all concentrating as they enjoyed playing.

What lucky girls as they all got to take a Style and Groom home with them and continue to play. Florence, just like the other little girls at the party it seems, loves to plait hair, brush it and make it look pretty. She is constantly playing with my hair so as this is a My Little Pony toy, it encorporates two things she really likes and has been continuing to play with after we got home. Her little brother Jimmy has also been enjoying the hair play proving it’s not just for little girls!
