A Night At The Movies With Gracewell!

This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

To celebrate the start of the weekend we have a little tradition of a Friday night movie. I usually pick the film and then we all settle down in front of the TV and fire for a retro classic accompanied by treats like Pizza and popcorn! We started doing it while we were waiting to move and Jonny often wouldn’t be home in time meaning it was just me and the little ones. We had lots of fun but now that we’re all living in the same city again, it’s much nicer as a family.

This weekend we went to have a sleep-over at my Mum’s so we roped her into the fun too and you know what?! she loved it! Sitting down in front of the TV is something that all generations can enjoy, especially when there are small children around. My choice yet again and as per norm a retro fave of mine and we decided that this weekend we would make a start on the Chevvy Chase National Lampoons boxset!

Off we went to Wally World!

Movie Night Post

Gracewell Healthcare had sent us some goodeies to enjoy while we watched the movie as they really believe in a night at the movies being something which makes socialising run to all generations just as we do. There are lots of ways to stay in touch with elderly members of your family (Mum, I’m not referring to you, don’t worry!) but a movie really is a lovely way don’t you think? Gracewell are a care home provider and believe that every single one of their residents (and their families) have individual needs for both their level of care and for the life they want to live. The regularly have movie nights where Gracewell actiely encourage their residents’ families to attend and I think that’s lovely!

My Mum might not quite be ready for a Gracewell care home just yet (we still like to go round hers and have her look after us if I’m honest) but the generational difference is still the same yet my children enjoy snuggling up with her in front of the box just as she enjoys it with them. I too remember doing the same with my Grandparents. Movie night all the way we say!

This is my Mum with F on holiday last year - I forgot (having too much fun) to take a picture on movie night would you believe!

So movie night with my Mum was a bit of a hit, we’ll have to do it more often I say! Oh and National Lampoons at Wally World?! Wentdown a storm! We’ll do the ‘European Vacation’ next because oldies are the best!

We were sent a box of goodies by Gracewell healthcare to enjoy a movie night at home.
