I’m A #FairyTaler With The Irish Fairy Door!

This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

Last summer the children and I were invited to a party where we were introduced to The Irish Fairy Door for the very first time. We delved into a magical world where all children can have a real live fairy, sent straight by Queen Kate of Fairyland to come and live with them. All you have to do is choose a door, give it a home in your bedroom, leave a key out for a fairy to claim and then… If it’s gone in the morning, you have been chosen by a fairy who will then be your friend for life!

You can register your fairy code which comes with the door and give your fairy a name so that Queen Kate and the fairy Council can send you updates and you can even buy special extras to leave out for your fairy and make her feel more at home. On top of this there is a beautiful story book which you can buy to add to the one that comes with your door and the magic can just keep on growing and growing.

ALL the children at the party including Florence and Jimmy along with the likes of Imogen Thomas's daughter, were totally enchanted!

Both my children were delighted at the notion from the very start and loved every second of the party the Irish Fairies threw for us and they came home desperate to leave their doors out and see if a fairy would come and live with us too! We were in the midst of moving so we decided to save our fairy doors until we moved and even though it took a few months they never forgot about the fairies. We’ve been in our new house for a few weeks now and fairies have well and truly moved in!

And now, we’ve been asked by Queen Kate if we will be fairy ambassadors, how could we say no?!

F's door is red with a white daisy and we were recently sent some play equipment to go with it!
F’s door is red with a white daisy and it came with the stepping stones, scroll, a book, key and note pad for little notes to be sent back and forth from this land to the land of fairies! It also came with a key which we left out and over night it disappeared meaning we were definitley fairy approved and one now lives behind this door! We were recently sent some play equipment to go with it and make our fairies feel extra specially at home!
The orange book is one that comes with the door and tells you all about fairies and The Fairy Forge is a great story book that everyone wouldenjoy whether they had a fairy friend or not!

J also has a door and because it’s blue he’s decided that his fairy is a boy. I promise I’ve not tried to condition my children on boys and girl’s colours, they’ve just decided for themselves that this is the way and who am I to argue with a small 3 year old boy who likes blue but definitely not red because that’s for girls?!?! My advice is NEVER argue with a three year old, you rarely find a winning situation in that!

J's door has rather less accessories because F's fair really needed most of them apparently. However, he does have this darling little bicycle so that he can ride around to the next room and knock on the red door for a play date!

(Please excuse the skirting boards in my new house – they WILL be decorated soon but we’ve only just moved in!)

The children love this idea and it brings such a beautiful amount of joy and imagination. It’s a simple idea but then the clever ones usually are. We like the accessories as it keeps the story going, keeps the imagination whirring and we are kind of creating our own fairy tales just by talking about the fairies who have come to stay. What a lovely thing!

We haven't used our stickers yet as we are still to decorate but with the easter themed sheet I feel we may have to break them out very soon!
