We Hearted The Holidays!

Today I am feeling back to earth with a massive bump! We have all had such a fabulous Christmas, New Year’s, time off school and two of us with birthdays over the holidays that we really couldn’t be anything other than partied out!

We’ve celebrated, opened presents, gone swimming, visited the beach, played in the garden and park, had parties, seen family and laced all the celebrations with masses of food and a touch of alcohol too if we’re honest! Jonny and I even managed a night away at a Q Hotel in Cambridge for a spa break. It was to celebrate his birthday which was on the second and we had a great time. The hotel had mucked up our room and treatments but went out of their way to rectify things when we complained so we’d go back to a Q again, just perhaps not the one in Cambridge which wasn’t as aesthetically pleasing as ones we’ve been to in the past.

The festive period was simply wonderful and I just wish that it wasn’t over already… But alas time goes fast when you’re having fun! I really don’t think we could have packed any more in to our holiday yet still, looking back at when I picked Florence up on the last day of term and we chanted ‘We’re FREE’ and ’17 days off, 17 days off’ as we exited the playground and now that we’re back in London it’s hard to imagine we’ve been anywhere at all! Why does that always happen the minute you get home form a holiday!

I have lots of pictures to look back on though including the one I take every year on the minute Florence was born on her birthday…. Wow, my girl is now five – not sure where that time has gone either?!

Happy New Year everyone, these are our special pictures from the holidays – warning, there’s a LOT of pictures here, this post is an indulgent one!

The Christmas presents we gave Florence's teachers. Mainly a vessel for me to be able to knit something ridiculous!

A day with my best friend and her two for present exchanging. We do this every year on around the same date. I met her 21 years ago at this time of year when we were both on holiday in Tunisia and she's still my bestie!

A Christmas lunch ahead of the real one at my friend Denise's who is one of the best cooks in the world - fact! I love meeting up with my Mummy friends and I love how our babies who have known each other since they were a few weeks old are still good friends even when they don't see each other very often!

Christmas day is so much fun with children and we loved every single second of presents, lunch, more presents, games and just doing nothing but doing nothing together! We loved watching Miranda all together too which is one of Florence’ favourites would you believe!

Twenty to midnight on New Year's Eve and this is me and my girl, five years to the minute that she was born! We do this every year (I'm sure when she's a teenager and off out with her mates I will stalk her at parties until I get my picture - it's tradition now)!

I think these two had earned napping at the wrong time at the end of the holidays - it was fun but boy were we busy!
