New Pampers Nappies!

This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

Last weekend I bought some super market own brand nappies while I was in Waitrose. Now, I’ve used supermarket own brand nappies before and often found them to be pretty good. Perhaps not as good as Pampers but they work and if you haven’t used a premium brand like Pampers for a long time you’ve not a lot to compare it to.

The Waitrose nappies were NOT much cheaper than Pampers but I thought I’d give them a go as I’d not used them before and I wanted to see what they were like. I expected them to be good, or at least as good as other supermarket brands because, well, it’s Waitrose… However I was very disappointed from the get go.

The first nappy I got out of the bag had a missing tab. Not a brilliant start and then I noticed how bulky and chunky they are. With Pampers we have grown used to having a lot of extra features to nappies, the thin material, reusable tabs (which don’t fall off) and the slim material to name a few not to mention a funky design (not entirely necessary until you have to change the nappy of an unwilling toddler) but the most important part is that they work! Most supermarket nappies get at least THAT much… Waitrose clearly don’t in my opinion.

I felt very cheated as they were no cheaper than Pampers (Waitrose, let’s face it, is no budget shopping experience) and they were, for want of a better word, crap!

The next week I was sent a packet of the new Pampers nappies for review and the difference is SO vast! You really and truly do, as with most things in life, get what you pay for with Pampers and when, like with Waitrose, they’re no more expensive I just don’t see why you wouldn’t? Often they’re even on offer making them cheaper than ‘own brands’ and having used them after the dire Waitrose experience I can hand on heart say they would be totally worth spending the extra on even if the WERE a higher price!

I’ve been using Pampers Premium Protection Active Fit for a few days now, along with their new sensitive wipes and after my last nappy experience it’s like breathing a breath of fresh air! (Apart from when I have to change one that’s… Well, you know what!)

The nappies are no thicker than dungaree or trouser material and you can’t see them at all through clothes. I wonder how on earth Pampers are able to make them so thin yet SO absorbent and even though I’ve been to their factory and listened to their scientists it still feels like it can’t possibly work but it absolutely does! Pampers have a secret that no one else has managed to find yet and even though some super market nappies are good (not Waitrose obviously), some are excellent even, they are just NOT to the standard of Pampers!

Pampers nappies are ridiculously thin yet the STILL work!

You know when you buy a really high end nail varnish or mascara and it lasts for a year without going gloopy yet one which costs a third of the price is unusable after a couple of months? Well it’s the same principle here really… Jimmy’s nappies sometimes get incredibly heavy when wearing Pampers because I know they can do 12 hours and still be dry! I don’t buy cheap make up because it’s a false economy and when using pampers I reckon I use at least half the amount!

He might be pulling a pout but he’s pretty comfy in his Pampers!

So… I love the nappies and the sensitive wipes are pretty ace too! I know what I’ll be picking up in Waitrose from now on and it WON’T be own brand!

I was sent a pack of Pampers nappies and wipes for the purpose of an honest review.
