Children’s Cookery Classes – BKD Class!

This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

On Wednesday the children and I were invited to attend a BKD class in a super trendy cafe on Regent’s Canal. Adelle Frejus, founder of BKD, a London based children’s cookery school takes classes in both the Proud Archivist and her own home with more venues in the offing and with lots of different classes taking place we were all set for our ‘Ooh Arr pirate biscuit decorating’ session.

Of course I knew Florence would LOVE it and she did! She soaked it all up and followed Adelle who had pre decorated biscuits to show what we could do and went round the table helping each child with their own. Each little participant had a special pirate box filled with the ready made (by Adelle) pirate shaped biscuits and with gold coins and other pirate bits it was all very exciting!

Once Florence had decorated the simple but effective designs Adelle had set up for everyone she had a bit of a freestyle and the session was over in a flash because we had so much fun!

BKD Class Post 1

Florence well and truly loved this class!

I really wanted Jimmy to join in but he just wanted to eat the biscuits and chocolate coins… Typical boy! At the same age Florence would have soaked it all up and really got involved but then this is JUST up her street and Jimmy is more of a football and running about type of boy! Oh well, I think next time I’ll just take Florence because she absolutely loved it and so did I!

Florence listened and couldn’t wait to get started while Jimmy just tucked in!

At between £15 and £20 per child this is an awesome treat and one we definitely want to repeat. Adelle is lovely with the children and very clever! What a fab class for little ones, even if they end up sitting under the table scoffing the biscuits instead of decorating them!

Florence spent a long time making her biscuits and the results are fab!

BKD Class Post 3

She had so much fun and look what she made!

I think Florence’s favourite part was spraying the edible gold spray on her chocolate coin biscuits but from the rolling of the icing to the piping decoration she was concentrating and working hard! BKD London is a fab way to have some cooking fun and for a bit of a novice baker like myself it saves an awful lot of hassle and mess at home too!

BKD also do private parties and many different types of classes such as monster cup cake decorating and there’s a cake pop class coming up for Easter too!

Thanks for a wicked class Adelle!

I was invited along to the BKD London class in return for an honest review.
