An ‘I Can Cook’ Birthday Party!

This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

Florence’s birthday is on New Year’s Eve and this year she decided to have her party before Christmas rather than after. In the summer whilst at the Lollibop Festival and having enjoyed watching Katie Ashworth live on stage with her ‘I Can Cook’ show it was chosen as the theme for this year’s bash and we’ve been busy planning ever since!

I’m big on birthday parties, I really enjoy organising them and this one gave me tremendous pleasure. Florence loved it too (which is the main aim of course) and when I asked her what her best bit was the next day she replied ‘all of it Mummy’! Can’t get any more satisfaction than that now can I?!

I know you probably shouldn’t say this about your own party but it was flipping awesome! I have to thank my Mum for all her help as without her none of it would have happened. I have grand ideas but I’m not able to put it together without her help so thanks Mummy! We decorated pizza, cooked it and ate it followed by ice cream with sprinkles and sauce to get creative with! Sticking with the ‘I Can Cook’ theme we decorated wooden spatulas and then we had a few traditional party games while I did a spot of dubious face painting… ! I think what they really loved was just running about and having fun with each other, no professional party entertainer required!

Have a look at Florence’s ‘I Can Cook’ party in pictures!

Florence, her friends and all the adults seemed to enjoy the party as much as me! We had a great time and it proves a brilliant party can be done on a shoe string! I’m already planning Jimmy’s next party for May when he turns two. We shall be having a Teddy Bear’s picnic and I have already found the perfect baskets to put everyone’s picnic in! Oh I do love a party – bringing out the party girl in this Mummy in a new dimension!

  1. What an awesome party.
I love those type of parties which don’t cost the earth but ensure all the kids have fun.
Well done and wishing Florence a happy birthday for new years eve

  2. this looks like such a cool party, love the i can cook theme and they all look like they are having a lot of fun in all the pictures!

  3. Brilliant idea for a party!! I think I shall try something similar when my daughter turns 8 this year – although I will tailor it to something more suitable for her age group, ie making and decorating cupcakes. I much prefer a party that is organised by myself – I can’t afford to pay for an entertainer but with a little help, and a lot of imagination, it is possible to have a great party without spending a fortune. My favourite party that I have done for my children was a craft party for my middle daughter – her elder sister helped me and we bought calico bags and decorated them with name and picture before the party and then everything they made went into the bag when finished – ready-made party bag to take home!

  4. I absolutely love this idea! I’ve done biscuit decorating as part of a party, but we often do pizza decorating at home, so deffo doing this for the next one. Especially as it will be too cold for a bouncy castle outside
