A while back I was lucky enough to be invited to review Shrek The Musical in London’s West End! Florence was a little too young at the time as was only just two but she has remembered ever since that I didn’t take her with me! We have a game when we go on the tube where every time we see a production poster we shout out which one it is! Florence ALWAYS spots the Shrek ones!

I was asked if I’d like to review the DVD of the musical which was filmed on Broadway. Of course I said yes please as I just knew Florence would love it! The DVD only came out on Amazon on 2nd December so we feel very lucky to be some of the first to see it!

Yesterday our cheeky elves brought it for Florence as a gift for when she woke up and she was super excited. I said we’d watch it when she got home from school and she couldn’t wait!

We have Christmas elves staying with us and they brought Shrek on DVD yesterday!

The show is slightly different to the London musical but only in an even more spectacular kind of way. The finale of Shrek is the absolute best I have ever seen in the West End and on the DVD it doesn’t disappoint either! I loved watching this again and Florence just thought it was spectacular. It really is just that, a spectacular!

It’s billed as the greatest fairy tale never told and it is SUCH a good fairy tale! The costumes, the characters, the script, the story! THE SONGS! It’s amazing! I love that the DVD has extras which include a song book. The songbook takes you directly to some of the show’s best loved tunes and you can watch either normally or in sing-along style!

This DVD is filmed superbly! Turn down the lights and you could almost be in NYC on Broadway! It’s currently selling on Amazon for just £10, what an ace Christmas present!
