Arbonne – Calm Soothing Facial Serum!

I am the sort of person who doesn’t part with money easily. There are few things that I will spend lots of money on and would far rather be getting the bargain of the century on most of my purchases than buying a branded name! Things I do splash out on and think it’s worth it for are buggies and skin care – for those two things I open my purse very wide indeed! I recently went to a celebrity launch party without really realising that it was going to be a celebrity launch party – don’t ask! My main concern when I saw Marc Owen from Take That was not that I was dressed head to toe in supermarket clothes but that I wasn’t pushing the right buggy that day… And… I didn’t have proper make up on! Oh the horrors!

Epic Party 8
Marc Owen at a party I attended! He not only saw me (and spoke to me no less) pushing the ‘wrong buggy’ but saw me without proper make up on!

Goodness only knows what I was doing going out with just a smattering of lip gloss and a chemist bought blusher (it’s rubbish)! I usually have a really great routine when it comes to skin care. My Mum taught me from an early age that to pay less for make-up is a complete false economy. Cheap mascaras go gloopy after only a few weeks whereas high end ones can last and have lasted me a year! There are exceptions to the rule of course but I find that generally you do get what you pay for when it comes to skin care and make-up (and buggies of course)!

I don’t have a favourite brand, I like lots because I absolutely love make-up and skin care! One brand that hasn’t been on my radar before now though is Arbonne. But these days it’s absolutely on my list, having discovered them I shan’t be letting go! They make all sorts of skin care and cosmetics and after trying my first Arbonne product, the Calm Soothing Facial Serum, I can’t wait to try more!

Arbonne Calm Serum
The Arbonne Calm Soothing Facial Serum!

The ‘Calm’ range is wonderfully fragrance free and gentle for people who are sensitive of skin like me. The serum is just divine! It promises to sooth and provide hydration and relief for tired and dry skin. Arbonne say:

‘This lightweight serum, with a moisture barrier soothing complex, quickly penetrates, cools and soothes the skin, locking in moisture and leaving the skin feeling hydrated and supple. This non-irritating, non-comedogenic serum is the ideal product for improving the texture and appearance of the skin.’

It’s really easy to use and comes with a dropper so you use the correct amount on your face and neck every time. Recommended for twice daily after cleansing I have been doing this for testing purposes but would ordinarily only use something like this in the morning before my make-up. Only because I am too lazy to apply skin care in the evenings – perhaps I should start!

It has a really easy dropper to use which means the correct amount is applied each time!

So, I’ve been using it for over a week and I have noticed a real difference in my skin. After use in the mornings I’ve left it a few minutes before applying my make-up and found that it doesn’t make cosmetic application any different to usual. It actually makes my skin feel really soft and dewy and the appearance is wonderful. I have large pores and I feel certain that it reduces the appearance of them – I am quite critical of them but I really do think when I have used the serum they look better. Without make-up and just the serum and I instantly look better. I am more than happy to pop out to nursery or the shops without make-up and just the serum on, it definitely gives a nicer finish on the face than just cleansing and going! It makes my skin brighter and healthier feeling too.

The actual serum is fragrance free which is good for my skin as I am prone to break outs and allergies but what I really like about it is that you can’t actually feel it if you know what I mean? It’s not sticky and it doesn’t leave a residue. They say it locks in moisture and it really does feel very hydrating! I love it!

Can’t wait to try more Arbonne products. I like this skin care product and think it could be used as a bit of a Jack of all trades when in a rush, a moisturiser, base, pick me up and skin refresher all in one! Even as a substitute to make-up when, like me who is always late, you haven’t got much time! Although Arbonne do also make cosmetics less we forget and I think you can judge a make-up house by their skin care so I’m going to say that on the basis of my experiences with the serum, their skin care is almost certainly good!

I have not been paid to write this post but I was sent the skin serum for the purpose of review.
