Snugglebundl My Bundle!

Before Jimmy was born I attended The Baby Show as one of their VIP bloggers and as part f that day I was kindly given lots of products to review for my blog. One of them, the Snugglebundl blanket, I have found particularly useful. We mainly used the carrycot on our big buggy for Jimmy to travel in and because the weather was so poor this summer, despite a May birthday, he definitely needed a blanket to keep him snuggly. This one fit the bill in many ways and it’s kind of quirky too!

Some early days snuggling!

As you can see from the pictures above the Snugglebundl has a special hooded part on the inside for the baby to rest his head and then it can either be wrapped round him as in the picture on the left or just be a blanket to lie on as shown on the right. The inside of the blanket is soft and because it’s so thick it feels very comfortable while the outside is fleece and again soft to touch. It has two handles (I will come to why later) one on each side which you bring together and can tie so that the blanket doesn’t get kicked open. It really is a fab blanket for all weathers really as it never seemed to make him too hot when he was lying on it on hotter days and yet when wrapped round him he was warm and snuggly. On really cold days I have wrapped him in a regular blanket then wrapped the Snugglebundl round him too which also helped with him not being able to kick either of the blankets off.

Now here’s the really quirky part! (Here comes the why for the handles). So when the baby is sleeping and you don’t want to wake him up, he can easily be transported from buggy to cot without being woken and still in the blanket! Simply draw together both handles and lift!! The Snuglebundl was designed to  help parents when lifting the baby by reducing the amount of bending and stooping and it works like a hammock. The baby is supported as the material pulls around the baby and supports the neck, head and spine. It’s actually very clever and has been very useful!

As you can see, my baby wasn’t asleep and was hungry when I took these pictures to demonstrate how it works but you get the gist!

We don’t always use it as a wraparound blanket or a blanket to lie on, I have also used it just over his knees like a regular blanket, a changing mat and more recently even as a blanket for Florence to wear like a cardigan home from play group when she was feeling too cold. She put her arms through the handles and we placed the hooded part over her head! Multi versatile then!

Florence in the Snugglebundl on a walk home!

The blanket is for the car seat, buggy, carrycot, wherever really but I have found it most useful in the carrycot. I will use it going forwards but I’m not sure it will be of quite the same help. It doesn’t have sections cut out for 5 point harnesses as both our buggy and car seat have but I would use it to place over him instead. I think the most value it has is for a baby under 6 months and in a carrycot. It has meant we can take the sleeping baby from the buggy and put him straight in his cot and that has been wonderful! For me it’s a product for primarily the younger baby but I know lots of others who have found it helpful with older children too. (And obviously we used it for Florence like a cardigan just the other day when she was cold)!

As well as using it in the method intended on the left, we have also used it many times (and still will) as a regular blanket placed over him!

As my pictures show, we have used this blanket since birth right up to today and even with him sitting at the end of the carrycot as he has been doing of late it’s been really great to tuck around him!

  1. So glad you got so much use out of the Snugglebundl(even a few we had never thought of!). We love the review and the photos. Shame we hadn’t had a chance to go through the car seat details with you because it actually fits really well into 5 point harnesses but the details were not on our older packaging. Jimmy looks like a proper cutey with a very cheeky smile! Hope you all have loads of fun together and thanks for trying out a Snugglebundl for us. Best wishes to all the family from all at Snugglebundl HQ :)x
