Happy 50th Birthday Tiny Tears!

That’s right, Tiny Tears is fifty. FIFTY! That’s amazing don’t you think? Generations of little girls, in some families probably daughters, mummies and Grandmas will have ALL enjoyed playing with the iconic doll who was the first to cry real tears and do a wee wee after being fed water!

I definitely had one when I was little although sadly my Mum doesn’t seem to have saved her amongst the toys she kept. Florence has her own one though, an interactive classic Tiny Tears which she loves! I noticed how they’d certainly moved on from my 1980’s version when Florence got hers and instead of having a very hard body you had to literally sit on to make her wee, Florence’s up to date model works at the touch of a button.

And now, John Adam’s have brought out a special edition to celebrate 50 years of Tiny Tears! Florence has been sent one to play with and we think she’s gorgeous. She has brushable hair which falls in curls just like the original Tiny Tears from the 60’s. She also has the old fashioned way of making her wee with the push of her tummy but it’s not anywhere near as difficult as it used to be with my old doll.

She wears a commemorative birthday dress of pink and sparkles and comes with a bottle to feed her the water, a potty and a limited edition certificate. Florence is, as you can imagine, very pleased with her indeed and she now has pride of place on her bed nestled in amongst some of her other favourite dolls.

I kind of didn’t want to take this one out of the packaging because she is a limited edition and she looks so lovely but toys are to be played with aren’t they and this one is definitely being loved now that she’s out of the box.

She has eyes which close when you tilt her backwards and her bottle fits into her mouth so it's not difficult to feed her.

Her arms and legs move so that she can sit on the potty!

And of course, those tears keep coming once she's been fed!

A really great point to note about this doll is that once she has been filled with wter she is very easy to drain. We have other dolls you can feed who have water splashing around in them no matter how hard you shake and even one that goes in the bath who has ended up a bit of a grey colour as she is obviously growing mould on the inside. This ones drains and dries very quickly and with very little effort.

What a brilliant and special present for a little girl and at £29.99 I think she’s a really great price. Grab one while you can because limited means limited after all!

Happy birthday Tiny Tears, you’re looking great for your fifty years!

We were sent a 50th anniversary Tiny Tears for the purpose of an honest review.
